What I got for Christmas 2014

Christmas is over!!!I am so upset but only 358 days to go aha. So although its a bit late here is what I got for christmas 2014, these are a few bits I thought you would like to see and as I have tried a few I will give it a little review BUT... Before I start I will do a little bit of a disclaimer that I am not trying to brag or show off in anyway, and I am very very grateful for all my gifts but it was requested by a few people and I hope you enjoy it as I always like a little nosey of what others got.

First of all I got a Clinique Gift set which contained hand cream, body cream, mascara, chubby stick and nail varnish. Although had tried a sample mascara I wasn't sure if I liked the brand but so far so good the hand cream is really good especially as I get really dry hands in the winter and the chubby sticks are good despite being a bit sheer.
I then got a stack more make up including Soap & Glory Mother puckers and Kick ass concealers which are fantastic! As well as the Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeliner and Mascara that I cannot wait to try. i also recieved a Revlon Lip Butter and an Avon Eyshadow palette. All in a super sweet make up bag.
The next thing I got was a Tresseme gift set with a hairspray, shampoo, conditioner and brush in which was a really nice stocking filler, And seen as I love extra body in my hair this should be great.
Ok, i know at a first look this looks a tad bit peculiar but I promise you it is a hair waver. Its by Babyliss which is my go to hot hair appliance brand. The diamond is infused with the ceramic which is supposed to add shine but I have also found the waves have not fell out im not sure is this is to do with the diamond or just generally the heat or something but overall this is brilliant.
The next thing I got was a selection of nail varnishes I especially can't wait to try the Barry M one but all the colours are gorgeous.
I already new the scrub worked wonders for my breakouts so when i opened the paper to find a gifts set of these i was really happy even though it was 'just a skincare product' as my mom kept telling me but as my skin was particularly bad it was a life saver. There is a scrub, cleanser, toner, lotion and oil which are brilliant.
I then got a selection of books, Four the forth in the divergent series which I cannot wait to read, If I stay which I am also very excited about reading and City Of Bones which I have heard is good but I will update you if they are any good when I have read them. (Let me know if you want to see book recommendations occassionally on a wednesday post.)
Lastly I got an Olly Murs Calender and stuck to the front were Olly Murs Concert Tickets!!! If you know me you will know i love him do much, I am so excited as I was so disappointed when i couldn't get tickets myself.

So they are a few of gifts I got. I also got a Samsung CSC Camera which I took the pictures with, let me know if you can see a difference in better or worse quality as I am still learning and could only just take a photo yesterday. I'm not very good with technology haha. Hope you liked this post, let me know what you had for christmas or link me to your blog post.

Christmas Makeup look

ITS NEARLY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Can you tell I am a tad bit excited? I can't wait. I always love to look my best on christmas day when my family come around so I always test out a few makeup looks and choose my favourite for the day and I think this is it. I am also going to curl my hair but I am not sure on the outfit yet. Decisions. Decisions.

So first I applied my clinique moisturiser* then went on to put my Rimmel Stay Matte BB cream which is absolute perfection it is long lasting, which rarely happens as my skin is very very oily. I then applied my Collection Concealer in the lightest shade under my eyes and then the Rimmel Hide that Blemish concealer on any blemishes. I then put a bit of Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (as per) on my t-zone. Finally to finish off my face I put some of MUA's Cream Blusher on in Scrummy, which is a really nice light pink shade, despite this being hard to apply the colour pay off and how long it lasts is well worth it.

Next I did my eyebrows with Beauty UK's High Brow Palette, first I applied the wax on my brow to hold everything on and then put the middle shade powder on my brows. This is great as the brush and pair of tweezers is supplied and for a change they are actually good, but also makes it nice for travelling. A down side is that it comes as a pallette of four a wax, and three different powder shades so if you are like me you will only be able to use two out of the three leaving one to waste.

I then moved onto my eyes and used the MUA Twelfth Night Palette* I only got this palette about a week ago and it has already become a favourite, although I haven't been adventurous enough to try out the purples or bluey shades. I applied Ice all over my lid, in the corner of my eye and to highlight my brow bone. I then used All Spice on the outer corner and finally Fir in my crease. I love these shades together as they are a mixture of matte and shimmer. who doesn't like a bit of shimmer at christmas. I then used the Barry M Kohl Eyeliner on my waterline and tight line before doing my obvious wing using Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner which is probably the best eyeliner pen I have tried. Lastly I curled my eyelashes and applied the Maybelline Falsies Mascara which holds the curl and adds length and volume. It is a must for my makeup bag.

Finally I applied the Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Meteoric Matte to my lips which is absolutely amazing and perfect for winter. Over the top of that to give it a bit of shine I used the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Sheer Gloss Crayons in Rapunzel to add shine.

I really hope you like the look, and the more chatty post layout. Have a brilliant christmas!

Festive Fridays: Gifts for him

So its the last festive friday before christmas and I decided to do a gifts for him as i did one for women last week. These gifts would be perfect for sons, brothers, partners or dads.

Aftershave- This is a brilliant gift for any man as there are so many to choose from and many men would appreciate it. The prices can range from £5 and up. This is always my go to gift when I am struggling for inspiration.

Car products- If the men in your life are anything like mine then they will be obsessed with cars, so why not buy them a quirky gadget or something useful they may want or need I love getting these especially for my dad.

Watch- Jewellry is quite popular among men but I think a watch is a particularly nice gift, i bought one for my grandad (pictured) and I really hope he will love it. It has a leather strap and gold trimmings and personally really like it as it is quite old fashioned yet stylish.

Clothes and shoes- everyone loves a good jumper, shirt or pair of shoes especially if they have been wanted for a while. I always get older relatives this gift as they love a jumper, I think i gte my grandad one every year as he likes them so much.

Another idea is to casually ask people what they would like, find out a few ideas and pick your favourite one(s) i hope you have enjoyed this series and would love to her your gift ideas.

REVIEW: MUA Eyeshadow Palette

I have been mentioning this product alot over the past few months but I realised I had never really spoke about the individual colours, how long it lasted and how much it cost e.t.c. so as a lot of people had been asking about it I thought I would do this review.

There are a mixture of colours but are all wearable neutral tones. Personally I love to wear the mattes in the day and glittery at night, whilst I wear the palette mainly in the winter I do love the odd brown colour during the summer. The colours lasts so long but I use a eye primer anyway so they last even longer. So already for just £4 this is amazing. The quality is really good and in the glitter shadows the glitter runs all the way through unlike other palettes that I have had where the glitter is only on the top. At the minute I have been loving the greys as my eyes are blue and really makes the colour come through. Each colour has a name so it is great if you are a blogger like me as their is nothing worse when doing a makeup look and you can't say the colour of the product. This is also a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette which I really wanted so when I found this I got very happy.

I really recommend this eyeshadow palette, comment below your favourite eyeshadow palette as although I love this one I am in need of a new one as I get bored easily :D

Festive Fridays: Gifts for her

So christmas, I always want to give a good gift something that the person would actually want not just any old boring expected present like a bar of chocolate, by all means if that what the person wants go ahead but I also know it is tricky to buy for people so here are a few ideas.

Gifts for her: Ideal gifts for mothers, grandmothers, daughters or sisters.
Perfume- this can easily go wrong as different people like different scents but this is ideal if you know that they like a certain one for instance my mom loves Chanel Chance.

Necklace- this is a sweet gift that is good if you want a keepsake that isn't just going to run out. This is also good if you are willing to spend a bit more money or at the same time just a token gift ranging from even £1 plus. The same goes for rings, bracelets or earrings.

Nail Varnish- A simple gift I think nearly all girls would love again you can go cheap or more luxury, this would be good as a stocking filler for teenagers/ young adults.

Creams and potions- These are also brilliant stocking fillers, personally I love soap and glory as the christmas gift sets look so nice and make a really nice gift for not much money.

Lipstick- This is similar to perfume not everyone likes the same thing but if you know your sister likes nudes get a nude or if you hear her mention something then get it to surprise them. Great lipsticks are MAC but several small lipsticks would be appreciated.

Diary- I put this one in as who doesn't know a girl who likes to be organised, these can be so nice especially if you get a personalised one and would be very appreciated.

Clothes and shoes- if you know that they have wanted a certain pair of shoes for a while get it for christmas, it is a really great gift and personally the one I would love the most.

Comment below what you are getting people for christmas. Sorry it is late had no internet connection yesterday so I suppose it cant be festive fridays.

Bloggers Block

People always think blogging is easy you just write it , publish it and its done and to tell the truth I thought it would be like that too but in actual fact all the trying, researching, photographing, writing, checking, publishing and promoting takes a lot of  time so you always want the finished post to be perfect but before all this you need an idea.

I am always thinking of ideas, if a friend says something, someone wants a recommendation it gives me an idea to do a post but occasionally I get a blank mind, I press the little pencil symbol and cannot for the life of me think what to write about. So here is a list of 15 things you could do if you stumble upon that dreaded bloggers block.
  1. Monthly Favourites- This is an obvious one but it is a really good post idea to fill a week if you can't think to write but readers also love them as they get to know what products are good.
  2. Top 5- I do this as a little series and match the products to seasons e.g. Top 5 Autumn Lip products . I really enjoy writing these but also find it a challenge for myself to pick only 3 or 5 out of my collection.
  3. About me- let us now a few facts about yourself, funny things, your loves your hates.
  4. OOTD- this is great if you are loving a particular item or you are proud of that days outfit. It can also help readers find the perfect item they have been looking for.
  5. Whats in your make up bag? - This is a loved post as we all love to be a bit nosey don't we, you could also do a what's in my travel makeup bag? or whats in my handbag? post.
  6. Music- Let us know you music playlist, what your loving this christmas or your summer jams.
  7. Your oops moments- whether they are beauty mistakes when you were young or even something funny or embarassing you did the other day.
  8. Photographs- Show you hair history or disasters with makeup, this is similar to the post idea above but gives you and your audience a good laugh.
  9. Grab a friend- do each others makeup, be serious or silly.
  10. Beauty Tips- Tell us your beauty tips you swear by, find tips on the internet and tell us what went well and even what didn't.
  11. Reviews- These are great for readers if they had been looking to buy a product as an honest opinion is always good, but don't write too many as it can get a bit boring.
  12. Budget Shopping- challenge yourself to do yours or a friends make up under a budget.
  13. Aims and Goals- Get a bit serious and let us know your aims for summer e.g. read 5 books or get extra serious and tell us your life goals.
  14. Morning/ evening Routines- Personally I love reading these posts as it is interesting to see how different people do different things.
  15. Day in the life- Document you day, whether it is a usual day or you are doing somethning funny we would all like to see it.
So they  are my ideas for when you get those dreaded blank minds. comment below your ideas of things you would like me to do and I will try my best to do them.

Top 5 Winter Eye Products

If you have read my blog for a while you have probably come to realise that doing my eyes is my favourite part of doing my makeup and can never have enough eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascaras. So as big dark dramatic eyes are big for winter I thought I would tell you my favourite products.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette- Undress Me Too
I mention this product quite a lot as first of all it is an amazing dupe for the naked palette but also the colours are literally perfection. I particularly like the greys for a day to day whilst the shimmers are great for a night out. On a side note the smokey eye brush is brilliant, it is a real techniques dupe and was just £2 from wilkos but looks and feels just the same, I was so happy with this bargain it was unreal :)

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner*

I think this was in my favourites last month but I have still been loving it. Whilst it is hard to apply the effect afterwards is perfect it is also very long lasting which I love as it is probably the worst thing having to redo eyeliner especially if it is winged as it is hard enough to get them equal anyway. This a travel size and even though it is fantastic I am not sure if I will purchase a full size just because it takes a lot of time.

Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner
Soap & Glory Supercat has to be my favourite eyeliner pen of all time and I always use it when I can't be bothered to do gel or use the benefit one (above) This is super easy and always gives a nice effect, sometimes it can smudge but as long as your careful to not rub your eyes it is fine. I find this goes on easier if you have used a powder eyeshadow rather than a cream as it can slide off but I hardly use cream ones so it is fine for me.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara
This is probably one of the most loved drugstore mascaras in the blogging world and I have loved it ever since I bought one after Tanya Burr hyped about it and I loved her lashes. This particularly helps keep the curl after curling your lashes due to the spoon brush. Occasionally it can leave black marks under my eyes as it is not waterproof but other than that it adds an amazing amount of length and volume.

Collection Volumising Mascara
This is my favourite of favourite mascaras although it is not too great at adding length the volume it gives is amazing. I love this as it gives that dramatic look which is perfect with dark eyeshadow and black eyeliner. I really recommend this if you are after a cheap mascara but does a great job as it is only around £3.

So they are my favourite eye products, as they give me the perfect look that fits the winter trend. Comment below your favourite eye products as I am open to suggestions. I hope you are enjoying festive fridays and send me your christmassy pictures with the hashtag #katielousfestivefridays

Festive Fridays: Deck the hauls

Its nearly christmas! Over the past few weeks me and my family have been buying lots of decorations and even a new tree. So I thought I would show you a few of my favourite things. In the past we had a silver, purple and white theme but it wasn't the typical festive so this time we thought we would go traditional with red, white, silver and a smidge of gold.
The first place I went to was Next I knew they had a lot of christmas decorations and as soon as I saw these I fell in love and at 50 items for £20 was amazing value this set consists of pine cones, baubles, felt hearts, bells and a star tree topper.
To match that set I bought 20 baubles to add other shades of red to the tree and as Next is very good quality I think these will last a long time.
I then went to B&Q (top pic) and Hobby craft(bottom pic) and fell in love with these decoration. they match the traditional, homemade, nordic christmas look we were going for and at £1 or £2 each I think that is so cheap especially as a lot came with three or four for £1. I think these will look super cute on the tree and make me so excited to decorate.
I then went back to Next and bought some bunting which is so nice. The first one spells christmas and I was thinking of putting it spread across the fireplace whilst the second one are really cute wooden stars and hearts with tiny LEDs in which are battery powered, I think these will look so nice when watching a christmas film with no lights on except the fairy lights on each christmas decoration will be pretty.
This has to be one of my favourite house decorations, it is a little tree which I am going to put in the middle of the table again it is battery operated to light up little LEDs and it is sooo pretty its unreal and is so christmassy.

so they are a few of my favourite things I bought, show me pictures of your christmas decorations using the hashtag #katielousfestivefridays and I will be sure to check them out. Can you tell I am overly excited :D

November Favourites 2014

I have done a favourites pot for ages as for a while I hadnt really loved anything enough to write about but towards the end of october and throughout november I have been obsessed with so many things! So before I babble and make this post any longer I will start.

Rimmel BB Cream
I bought this in late july but never really had the chance to try it until this month and I find it is really good, it is supposed to do 9 things (see picture) but Although it does the majority I dont think it is very good for coverage but as I use concealer anyway it doesnt bother me. As my skin is oily I love how it lasts all day without virtually sliding off my face. This is definetly going to be in my makeup bag for a long time.

Eyelash curlers, clinique Mascara* and Benefit they're real push up liner*
I recieved both the mascara and eyeliner free and have loved them since the day I got them. i love this eyelook especially with some eyeshadow, the , mascara adds so much volume but i wouldn't advise the eyeliner if you are new to using eyeliner as personally I think it is quite hard to apply, but the after look is worth it.

Body shop face mask
I always struggle with breakout after breakout and it drives me up the wall but this gets rid of them straight away, at £1.50 each they are fairly cheap unless you want to do them every week as the satchet is only enough for one so a tub would be better, but I am not sure if they do it... I leave it on for 10- 15 minutes and it dries so hard but I wash it off with warm water and my face is soft and virtually free of breakouts.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Varnish
I got this last year for a pound and I am pretty sure I spoke about it last year bit it is the perfect winter colour, it is really long lasting compared to usual rimmel nail polishes and I would really recommend it.

Eylure Body Tape
It has happened to everyone, your top keeps gaping and its a bit awkward as the sleeves fall down e.t.c. But I found this and you stick it on your top, dress or whatever item of clothing to hold it up and attach to your skin. They are so useful and come in a variety of sizes to fit the item of clothing.

Love Actually
As its getting close to christmas I thought I would watch a christmassy film but I didnt want to watch something revolved around christmas as I thought it was a bit too early. I love this, it can get a bit confusing if you aren't watching it properly as it is set at different times with different people but the story is so heart warming and I absolutely love it.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
I can't express my love for this and how happy I was when this came throug my door, especially when I saw the signed photo, the album is perfection and I actually love it. All the songs are catchy, they are all different but sound so typical olly, my favourite has to be did you miss me? or tomorrow or... I a tually can't choose. If you havent heard it stop what you are doing and listen to it. Coincidently my favourite single has to be wrapped up but I have also been loving the power of love by gabrielle aplin, again getting into the festive spirit.

I hope you enjoyed this november favourites, and make sure you check out my blog on fridays as I have started a series to get into the festive spirit.

Festive Fridays: Countdown to christmas!

So its advent on Monday! The countdown to christmas will begin. I have decided to post every friday up till christmas with something festive along with my usual sunday posts. This is what I plan to do before christmas, I hope it helps some of you get organised.

1st- 25 days to go

The countdown has begun, the first thing to do has to be open your advent calender, old and young alike an advent calender is a must!

2nd- Set yourself a budget
The boring part of christmas is money, just because its the festive season you dont have unlimited amounts of cash so set yourself a budget and try not to go over (i know it hard!) make sure to include food, presents and any other treats.

3rd- get out those christmas cards
If you are anything like me you hate writing christmas cards so do the fun thing first and pick out the ones to give people or go and buy some, then write a list of who to give them to. This means whenever you get a spare moment you can pull out a pen and start to write them.

4th- Dear Santa...
Find out what people want for christmas, and if you have kids get them to write a letter to santa use Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto,Reindeerland,XM4 5HQ for a reply but send them off with an enclosed SAE by the 6th of december.

5th- Declutter
No one wants a messy house for christmas so get rid of things you dont use and take them to charity shops or clothes bank and make room for those presents on christmas day.

6th- Day Out
Its the first weekend of advent so why not get festive and go to a christmas market, this is also a good time to start christmas shopping yayy!!!

7th- Christmas Tree
Its sunday, whether fake or real its a great time to put up the tree with all the family, stick on the christmas CD and get decorating.

8th- Decorate, decorate, decorate
If you didnt get to decorate the house yesterday today is a great opportunity, if you have finished with the house why not make some prechristmas treats such as a gingerbread house. Today could be a good day to make a large batch of mince pies and freeze them to defrost when needed. (Keep in freezer for up to about 1 month)

9th- If you arent at work why not do a bit of christmas shopping, it should be a bit quiter today and wont be too late to spot the best buys.

10th- write lists, get inspired
Look online for recipes for food and drinks for any christmas parties or christmas day, this gets you prepared of what to buy at the supermarket.

11th- wrapping gifts
Hopefully you have got all the christmas shopping done and dusted so stick on a christmas film, grab a hot chocolate and get started. Add ribbon and gift tags for a oersonal touch to each package. To keep organised try putting each persons present in a lpdifferent labelled carrier bag.

12th- festive greetings
If you havent already, write your christmas cards as people are probably starting to give them out, if you have wrote them post them or personally deliver your christmas cards.

13th- 'Its behind you'
Tonight would be a great time to go to a panto this is great at getting festive and fun for all the family.

14th- Get the house sparkling clean
When guests arrive you want to be house proud  so clean around, leave the dusting and vacuuming for closer to guests arrival.

15th- finishing festive touches
Add a wreath to the door, put out festive flowers and make everything feel as cosy and christmassy as possible without going to overboard

16th- ready, set, bake!
Bake those christmas treats such as biscuits and cakes, wrap them in cellophane and give them as a gift to visiting family and friends.

17th- christmas songs
Make sure you have a christmas playlist ready for the big day make sure you ahve a variety of classics and new releases to make sure everyone is happy.

18th- kitchen duties
Make sure the kitchen is clean and tidy, that your cupboard is full of the essentials, you have a list of all the last minute food to buy such as vegetables and make timing plans to work out how long things take to prepare and cook on the big day.

19th- partayyy
Have a christmas party, to get into the festive mood.

20th- welcome
Its the last weekend before christmas, see family and friends or maybe they have stayed over from the night before.

21st- relax
Its sunday, have a pyjama day, watch films, stuff your face with chocolate and have a nice time with aanyone close to you.

22nd- food
Buy all the food for the big day, vegetables, meat anything else you might need it should last until the 25th

23rd- last minute
Tody, cook, prepare or just relax, I have usually got nothing to do as I am already prepared but i know some people arent as organised.

24th- eve
Put out a mince pie and carrot for santa, watch more films and get into your pyjamas. Remember to get an early night so santa has time to come ;) top tip: prepare vegetables the day before and keep in water it saves time on the big day

I hope you liked this post, and I look forward to writing the rest of the series.

Revise. Revise. Revise.

So eventhough Sundays is usually the 'beauty day' so to speak I thought I would do a different post on revision, i currently have my mock gcse's this week so have been non stop revising for the past few weeks but i can never get into the swing of it so here are my tips a tricks for when you have those dreaded exam days.

Get all your books out a make sure you have a good work space that is quiet and you can leave things out on without people moving things so you can't find them. Make sure you have all the equipment you need, a drink, maybe something to eat and turn off all electrics that may distract you.

So once you are prepared its time to revise.

I find various methods useful but first of all I read through the text and highlight anything I don't know, as you can see theres quite alot highlighted. I find erasable highlighters good as sometimes you dont get something the first time you read it but after highlighting it you no longer need it so I erase the bits once I know them.

I then make revision cards which I find useful to just whip out if I have a spare moment, mind maps are also good. Make sure you keep things organised though as everything can get very confusing.
Another tip is revise a little and often I find doing half hour revision then a half hour break is good so you dont over revise.

Ok, i know you probably going to think people will call you a suck up, teachers pet e.t.c. but especially if you have trouble in the subject ask for help off teachers or even ask for sheets, or practise exam questions. They will be happy enough to help you and wouldnt you prefer to get good qualifications that will benefit you rather than being popular for 5 years of your life.

They are my main revision tips but people learn differently. Let me know how you revise and Goood Luck if you have an exam soon.

Best & Worst: Rimmel

So if you know me Rimmel is my absolute favourite drugstore brand, if i need a new product and dont want to repurchase i go straight to the rimmel counter and then if its isnt any good then go to a different brand, but basically rimmel is my go to brand so have created quite a collection of products over time.
Instead of boring you with my entire Rimmel Collection I have picked out my favourite and least favourite few items and may do something similar with another brand but let me know if you like this one.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- This powder is just amazing, I have it in peach glow which matches my skin perfectly, its not cakey, it lasts an amazingly long time. If you are interested in buying a new powder i really really recommend it, i cant express how much I love it.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation- this is the foundation that goes with the powder and again im hyping over it, this is my second l love it again it prevents oiliness and its so long lasting.
Rimmel Apocalips- if you know me then you will know i wear these virtually everyday and I love them, i hate lipgloss as its too sticky and sometimes lipstick dries my lips out so this is like the perfect happy medium.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick- i bought this after zoella mentioned it and it is a beautiful colour for spring as its a bright pink but there are also darker colours, they last so long and arent too drying, the perfect formula for a lipstick.
Rimmel Gel Eyeliner- this is just a standard gel pot eyeliner, it is waterproof and it means waterproof, i went swimming and forgot i had it on whilst on holiday then realised so rushed out because i didnt want to have eyeliner down my face and it was all in tact so for that reason i love it.

Rimmel Sunshimmer Bronzer- i really dont like this, the colour doesnt show up and just looks like glitter on my face, its also a blusher, highlighter, bronzer all together so you cant contour.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara- This isnt too bad but by the emd of the day my eyes have black under them, it doesn't really add length but its quite good for volume.
Rimmel Lip Tint- i bought a berry one of these for £1 and loved it so decided i would go all outand bu to pinks and a nude but after a few uses it had run out, although the berry one was good the colour of the other three didnt show up at all.
Rimmel Concealer- this isnt too bad on redness and dark circles, but can be a bit cakey on spots and very thick, although it does cover really well i dont like the feel on my skin.
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil- this is probably the worst product by rimmel i have tried its hard, the colour doesnt go onto eyebrows, there isnt a wide range of colour and it is just generally not very good.

So they are my Rimmel Best and Worst, hope you liked it, let me know what other brands you would like to see in this series.

Face Mapping

We all know spots are made by oily skin and excess dirt or makeup being left on skin but despite, cleansing, toning, washing, masking e.t.c. I was still getting breakout after breakout so last week I looked in to it and discovered this...
Looks a bit weird doesn't it? But its called face mapping, an old science that relates internal problems with your skin, obviously it isn't always right like just because you have a spot their you aren't certain to have like a kidney problem but it does give a rough idea and has helped me battle a few breakouts.

1.  Forehead- Spots on the forehead can be due to a number of things including, stress and sleep deprivation but can also be due to blocked pores from makeup or daily dirt/ sweat so to prevent this make sure you cleanse your face and get lots of sleep. Some people also say eat less junk or fatty foods making your skin greasy.
2. Between eyebrows- These spots are due to overindulgence, so cut down on those fatty foods. This area is relate to your liver so if you drink too much alcohol you can get a lot of breakouts here
3. The end of your nose - A build up of makeup can cause this as there is a lot of dilated pores but it can also mean you need more fresh air, and no that isnt because its on the end of your nose it it to do with your respiratory system and your heart.
4 & 5.  Around eyes-  Due to dehydration and are linked to your kidney, so drink up.
6 & 7. Cheeks- This can be due to a respiratory problem which I can believe as I suffer alot with this and have asthma. you can also get these breakouts if you smoke. Also dont let your body overheat, get fresh air, avoid sugary foods, caffeine and eat your greens.
8. Chin- this is hormonal so arrive at 'that time of the month so these sadly you just have to let them carry on and you cant really prevent them.
9 & 10. side of eyebrow- this again can be dehydration but may also appear if you are ill.

My Autumn Essentials

Autumn has to be my top season, I just love everything about it, the leaves falling off the trees is so pretty and I know its getting towards winter meaning christmas! So today I thought I would show you my essentials for autumn.

I love a bold lip colour in autumn and my two favourites are Rimmel Apocalips Big Bang and MUA shade 1 both of these are drugstore but the pigments are amazing, the colour of MUA is a gorgeous berry red where as the Apocalips is a bright red. I am really looking forward to getting the Matte Apocalips in a deep berry red and I think it will be my new favourite.

To go woth my bold lip I like to have my eyes standing out, the MUA 'Naked 2 dupe' Undress me too is my all time favourite for autumn the dark browns and shimmer grey variety is perfect as you can swap around what you wear, this is also great for travelling as some colours are great as eyeliner. I also love to curl my eyelashes in Autumn its a bit of a wierd one but in the summenr my mascara just comes off but in Autumn my face is dryer meaning less moisture so my mascara stays on longer so I curl my eyelashes to again make my eyes pop.

The down side to Autumn is that my hands get dry from the cold weather but Hand Food always comes to my rescue and works wonders on making my hands smooth. I would recommend hand cream as an essential for in your bag aswell and to apply it before bed.
No one understands my love for Chanel Coco it is just perfect, the smell is strong and lasts all day and despit being quite expensive I have had this bottle for about a year as you dont need alot for a strong smell.
Hot Chocolate is my ultimate essential, wrapped up with a blanket and a book is just the highlight of autumn, but this mug is just perf the retro aspect of it is so nice and I do live a good mug.

So there my essentials, comment below your essentials.

Thick and Voluminous Hair Routine

My hair is naturally thin, like I have a lot of hair but each strand is a lot thinner than normal. It really annoys me as I would love a bit of volume but it always limp and lifeless so since using this combination of products I have been very happy.

So first of all I wash my hair with the L'oreal Elvive Fibrology Shampoo & Conditioner which has filloxane which coats each strand making it thicker, since using this I have had more of a swish to my hair and would really recommend it. I did try the thickness booster as I received a sample but I didn't see much of a difference than if I just used the shampoo and conditioner.

If I am blowdrying my hair I use the Tresemme 24 hour body blow dry spray which just adds a bit more oomph this is just a mini size that I bought to try but I will definitely buy the bigger bottle.

TIP: When I blowdry my hair I flip it upside down to give it a bit of extra volume if you can't perfect the salon blow drying technique

So when it comes to styling this is where I think I have found the perfect product VO5 Plump it up Dry Backcombing spray is my holy grail for plumped up hair and have already used three cans this year, so it doesn't last very long but I have used it virtually every single day. It gives a perfect backcombing effect without

Lastly if I need even more volume I do backcomb my hair despite people saying it is damaging I think as long as you don't do it every day it should be fine.

I hope you try out a few of these products which are available at most drugstores if you have please comment below your opinions or tell me if you have found any amazing hair products to get extra volume.

PS. please comment any ideas for blogpost I really want to know what you would like to see in the future.

REVIEW: Soap & Glory Arch de Triumph

I thought it was about time I did a review so here I am with my current make up hype.

I saw this the other week when shopping as I went to buy the Soap & Glory archery that everyone has been loving recently but when I saw this I thought lets be different and I am glad I was. This is brilliant, one end is a highlighter and the other is an eyebrow pencil it is in the colour Taupe and Buff and fits my eyebrows perfectly the pencil is just right not to hard and not to soft and the highlighter is not only brilliant for your brow bone but can also be great on the inner corner of your eye. However on a down side, I cannot find a sharpener big enough to sharpen it?!

My Top 5 Autumn Lip Products

So as its getting a little bit colder where I live and the leaves are turning brown I thought I would do my very first autumn post!
I love lip products especially deep reds so Autumn has to be my favoirite season for makeup but occasional I do switch it up but before I carry on rambling I will start-

MUA- Shade 1 (£1)
I will start with this for one fact only it is the cheapest at £1 I was surprised how good it actually is, the colour is the typical autumn colour of deep red but I also love this for Autumn as it applies very smoothly and feels moisturising when on, but it is not very longlasting so needs reapplying quite often.

Barry M-Genie (£4.50)
This is an all year round lipstick and has to be my favourite drugstore lipstick. The colour changes to any shade of pink depending on the alkali in your lips so sometimes it is very dark but other times a nude pink, this is so versatile and lasts a really long time and does not dry out your lips.

Rimmel Apocalips- Big Bang (£6)
I couldnt go a blogpost about lip products without mentioning the Rimmel Apocalips so I love Big Bang mainly for the beginning of Autumn when you still want that pop of colour from summer but Lso the deep colour of autumn, I dont wear this everyday but occasionally it is great to wear, it can be a bit sticky if too much is applied but overall the colour payoff is amazing and it lasts quite a longtime.

Rimmel Apocalips- Celestial (£6)
Well I did say I couldnt go a post about lip products with out mentioning the Apocalips so why not mention two? I thought I would put this in as personally I am not too keen on nudes but I do like this one and I am fully aware not everyone is comfortable wearing a bright colour so I thought this would be perfect, again its longlasting and has excellent colour payoff but can be quite sticky.

Rimmel 1000 kisses lip tint -grippy grape (£7 but i got it for £1)
I think lip tints are really under rated, I really like this as it stains my lips and lasts ages and does not transfer which is great when i go out as i hate leaving lip stick marks on glasses. This is also the perfect autumnal colour and the balm on the end makes sure those lips dont dry out.

I really hope you enjoyed this blogpost, comment below any other autumn post ideas.
