August Favourites!

Summer is now over like what?! Time has flown and next week I will be returning to school after a 3 month holiday and I am so not ready! However, every cloud has a silver lining because I have another favourites post which I absolutely love writing even though I don't have many this month.
Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder - I have been really enjoying baking beneath my eyes as I have gone out quite a lot and haven't wanted the makeup to just fall off my face due to the warmer weather whilst it gives a much more flawless look to the skin, seen as this is my first loose powder I haven't got anything to compare it too but I am very happy with this!

Benefit Dew The Hoola - Another new type of product I had never tried this month is a liquid bronzer so when I received this sample I was very excited plus the fact I had seen so many good reviews on this, I just put this in all places that are usually bronzed and it gives such a healthy, sunkissed glow that has been perfect for Summer. I also used it in my Nude, Bronzed Makeup Look (see here)

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I have had this brush for a very long time but only recently loved it, it makes applying foundation so much quicker and still gives a really nice finish. Real Techniques are also so affordable but sadly this only comes in the core collection which is a shame as this brush will probably need replacing long before the others, due to the amount I use it.

Mitchum Powder Fresh Deodorant- Okay, this might be weird to put a deodorant in a favourites post but seriously this stuff is brilliant as I find most deodorants rarely work very well whether it be the smell is unappealing or  need topping up all the time (not that i'm even an overly sweaty person) but this is amazing however I'm not acctually sure what else to say about a deodrant aha!

Pandora Ring - I have loved Pandora for quite a while and this ring recently made a new addition to my collection and I have loved it, I have virtually wore it everyday and is so subtle and delicate yet lovely and everytime I buy a new one it just makes me want more.

Behind Closed Doors  - This is a contempary psychological thriller about a woman and her husband that appear 'normal' to the outside world but behind closed doors its a whole different story, if you like a good plot twist and gripping story line this is defiently for you as I was addicted eventhough it is sort of a psycho and scares the hell out fo me that this could acctually happen.

What have you been loving this month?

Nude Bronzed Makeup

Although Summer is now coming to an end and Autumn is well on its way I am not quite ready to go back to being as pale as a ghost so I thought I would share the look I have been reaching for quite a lot the past weeks and swapping up the lip for something darker will transition me right into my favourite season of the year!
I decided to keep it quite natural on the eyes with no liner which might be quite a shock if you know what a lover of winged liner I am! However, I find the simple gold shimmer looks really pretty with heavily bronzed skin I also went for a very pretty highlight to add some glow to my skin paired with a nude glossy lip which I never thought I would say I love!

The Perfect Eyebrow Combo

When it comes to eyebrows I love them to be filled in but never really ever went out to buy products as I would always head for the pretty lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes rather than plain brow products but recently I went and bought a few things to update my collection leading to me finding the perfect brow combo which I absolutely love!

The Rimmel Brow This Way Wax and Powder is only £3.99 from Boots and it's perfect it can be made to look as natural or fake as you want, I personally go quite strong with the wax outlining to hold all hairs in place and the powder to fill in the rest however somedays I will just use the wax on its own. It has amazing pigmentation and comes with a little brush and spoolie making it great for travel even though I use my own brush the spoolie's very handy. It also lasts a fair amount of time but  this brings me onto the gel, Benefit's Ready Set Brow is a new product out with since the repackaging  I brush this clear gel through my brows and it prevents fading by holding the product in from root to tip whilst also preventing unruly hairs. These two products together are definitely going to be my go to's for a very long time!

Highend Products Worth The Splurge

Before making a high-end purchase I do some serious research on whether it will be right for me and the majority of the time end up loving them whilst some I still regret purchasing however, I thought I would share the ones I would repurchase time and time again that are completely worth the hefty price tag.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer (£23.50)- I had been longing for this since I first started getting into makeup but only recently got it in June ready for the Summer and instantly fell in love with it as the perfect bronze and subtle contour along with being the perfect colour for my ghostly pale skin. The brush is also the perfect size and shape to fit in the hollows of my cheeks.

Bare Minerals Big and Bright Eyeliner (£15)- I have this in Espresso which is a lovely brown colour perfect for smudging beneath the eye for a smoky look. It lasts all day and has amazing pigmentation and makes my eyes pop which I absolutely love!

Clinique Mascara (£17) - I have had this mascara for ages but I only recently started using it regularly as the perfect bottom lash mascara it is the only thing I can use which doesn't transfer and flake beneath my eyes. It separates and lengthens but doesn't add much volume which is perfect for my bottom lashes as its more natural.

Stila Eyeshadow (£12) - This is a bit pricey for a single eyeshadow however I can't even express how brilliant the quality and pigmentation is, mine is in the shade 'Puppy' which is the perfect brown shade for a natural look or a transition shadow for heavier makeup looks. This lasts an incredibly long time even without a primer and definitely, deserves more of a hype around the brand in general.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats (£26) - This is another thing I have wanted for an extremely long time but the price made it a bit of an investment that I couldn't bring myself to make so when my lovely best friend bought it me for my birthday excited was an understatement. Mine is in the shade 208 which is very bright but beautiful pink shade which isn't for someone who is nervous about wearing out their lipsticks, but I will wear anything. The matte formula is so comfortable on the lips and not at all drying and lasts all day without topping up and wears off evenly so you don't end up with that horrible line around your lips. Although it's an investment it's completely worth it and I can see why it's so much more money along with the gorgeous packaging.

MAC Lipstick (£15.50)- I know virtually everyone reading this will have heard or owned the famous MAC Lipsticks so I won't go on too much but I realise not everyone is going to pay £26 for a YSL one so thought it best to include it as I am forever longing for another shade on my wishlist but they really are amazing quality, pigmentation, and lasting power.

What are your favourite high-end products?

Memories in Photographs

I take A LOT of photo's whether it be for my blog, family, friends or just anything that looks pretty but I find they all just get discarded into a long lost file on my laptop and I never look through them compared to when I was younger and used one of those little cameras with a film, remembering the excitement when they got developed and I got to see what brilliant photos (and also the fails when the tops of people's heads were cut off) that me and my family had managed to take before filing them in a photo album.

So recently I thought why not do it again, and off I went to Boot's to print off the best photo's of the whole of the last year and there was way more than I expected. In total, I got them all for £7 which I thought was fairly reasonable compared to the effort of printing them at home. So far it has been something I have really enjoyed, writing by the side what and where they are. It works for me like a diary for others but more visual which I much prefer.

I really recommend starting one to share with family and friends, passing it around reliving the wonderful, happy memories or just to look back at all of the amazing things you have done because before I did this I felt I hadn't really done anything in the year but it made me remember the small things.

I am really enjoying collecting these little snaps and storing them in one place and have completed another thing from my bucket list (see here) , I would love to know if you do anything to store memories in the comments below.

Back To School: Stationary Haul

My favourite part of going back to school has to be the Back To School shopping, picking the prettiest of stationary which I buy in the hope it will make me more willing to actually do work and become a tiny bit more organised and this year was no different even though I still had a lot left over from last years supplies such as lever arches, ring binders and notepads. For some reason, every time I go into Paperchase, Ryman's or cute quirky shops I get absorbed into buying much more than I need and everything is so cute.
Even though stationary doesn't necessarily make me more organised or guarantee a good grade it makes me want to go and do work (maybe 'want' is an exaggeration) but if you are feeling a bit exasperated when it comes to actually doing something maybe all your in need of is a new notepad as there really is something quite exciting about opening a new journal or a notebook looking pretty on your desk.

Tips on Being Confident

I used to struggle so much with confidence, from caring how I looked to just being socially awkward and although I wouldn't say I am completely confident now in every situation, I can tell you now I wouldn't be posing in that photo a few years ago.

I thought I would share a few tips especially as it might help some of you at this time of year if you are starting a new school, college or just a big change in life.

Don't Care What Others Think

This is probably more helpful if you struggle with body confidence or something that you don't like about yourself, for me it used to be my teeth as they stuck out and I was always conscious of them until I got a brace however I found that people were more concerned over their own personal insecurities than whether my teeth slightly resembled a rabbit and those that did comment with 'Bugs Bunny' were also probably trying to cover their own insecurities to make themselves feel better, but just think they are the ones with the problem and ignore it.

Go Out of Your Comfort Zone

To improve confidence it's a great idea to go and do something you have always wanted to do such as an activity to go into a new environment with new people, or saying Yes to going to a party where you only know one person. Even though it might seem scary, most people are nice and will happily talk back. If you find it hard to make conversations just ask the person about themselves and what they like to see if you have anything in common and before you know it the conversation flows more easily.

Fake It 'Til You Make It

One thing I tried to do especially if it came to presentation in class is not look nervous just go and do whatever you aren't comfortable in, the more you practise it the more you will realise no one has said anything bad about the way you look or made fun of you, therefore, theres no reason why you shouldn't be yourself.

Surround Yourself With Things You Love

Everyone has area's where we aren't confident but on the other hand by doing the things we are confident in can drastically improve how good you feel about yourself. When I was in Year 10 I noticed my confidence got better and at that point, I had friends I felt completely comfortable with and now when I have the best-est friends ever who I do the most fun things with therefore feel confident to be myself and say and do what I think. So with those 'happy' places I learnt my confidence before using it in the big wide world!

Change It

Now I wasn't sure whether to include this as I am very much for accepting yourself but as this is what I did I couldn't really gloss over the fact my confidence fully came when I had straight teeth and without a brace I wouldn't feel as comfortable having photos took or general day to day things. However I don't believe a physical change solves everything overnight but usually, the key is maybe to change the people you hang out with if they put you down or something in your daily life is causing it. Life is what you make it and change isn't always a bad thing.

July Favourites!

I cannot get over its now August! In four months time, it will be Christmas! Ok, it's too soon for that, I'll stop :') In July I loved so many different things so I thought as normal I would share them with you.
Firstly this month I have been loving the Makeup Revolution Flawless Eyeshadow Palette which was an absolute bargain at just £8! I picked this up on a bit of a whim as I just wanted a wide range of shades so I could never be missing a shade I might want to wear on a regular basis as my collection previously was just a big array of every single possible copper and gold  (even though I still do adore those shades and this palette has a couple!) However the pigmentation of these are amazing, personally I prefer the shimmers as they have a slightly better colour payoff whilst the longevity is the best I have seen from a drugstore palette.

I know, I know, Summer's supposed to be the time for bright lips but I just can't help myself reaching for a nude lip especially nudes on the more pinky side leading to this new discovery of Rimmel Lip Liner in Eastend Snob, I heard Lucy&Lydia (YouTuber's) talking about this ages ago and only just got around to picking it up, it's the perfect lip liner for under my favourite nude MAC Mehr but also can be worn on its own and gives the 'Kylie Pout'.

Finally on the makeup side of things is one of the new Benefit Brow Products, when I got this I wasn't too sure if it was for me as I find gels can be a bit of a hit or miss but this is amazing it keeps my brows in place and prevents them fading throughout the day - which means it's perfect for Summer whilst also making them look natural due to brushing them through getting rid of any excess product.

Zoella's Bath Latte may be my favourite bubble bath ever, the smell is so lovely as its sweet but not sickly and is such a calming smell. I also find my skin feels lovely once I get out of the bath. I featured it in my last post of a Pamper Routine so won't ramble on too much about it (link here)

I have also been obsessed with the Yes To Tomatoes Moisturiser, I have been using this every night on my skin and in the morning I feel more moisturised and my skin looks a lot healthier since I began using it. It's also good for blemishes which is a bonus. I also find even though my skin is overall oily that a moisturiser for combination skin improves my skin a lot more as my skin craves a lot more hydration than a moisturiser for oily skin can give. Oh, and before you ask it doesn't smell like Tomatoes which surprised me!

Onto the random section and my favourite part! I have been obsessed with Tanya Bakes by the lovely Tanya Burr. The recipes in here are all things I would eat whilst not being extremely hard to master, I have only tried a few including the Chocolate Chip Shortbread which was gorgeous whilst I can't wait to try the S'mores Cupcakes!

This month I have a favourite YouTuber of The Clueless Flower, I love how original the majority of the content is while her personality is so likeable and relatable. She deserves so, so many more subscribers and I really recommend going and having a watch if you like lifestyle, fashion and a little bit of make-up.

Onto music, I have been obsessed with three songs, the first being Olly Murs' who would have thought it! You Don't know Love is another banger from the very fit Murs also did I mention I met him which has to be my favourite experiences of this month and definitely the year! Head over to my Instagram where I posted the oh so special photo. I have also been loving Feel My Love by Jake Quickenden which I am not sure if I mentioned in my June Favourites or not but I have included it anyway as I have still been loving it! Finally, I have loved Don't Let Me Down which is another great summer tune, let me know if you would like me to share my Summer Playlist in the comments.

What have you been loving this month?
